TBTI at the Fogo Process 2067 Conference and Think Tank, October 19 -22, 2017

TBTI Director Dr. Ratana Chuenpgdee recently gave a talk on 'The Inshore Fishery: Too Big To Ignore!' at the Fogo Process 2067 - A Fogo Island Futures Community Development Conference and Think Tank. This event was part of the yearlong series of events commemorating the Fogo Process and the establishment of the Fogo Island Co-operative Society Ltd.

The agenda included a review of successes of the past 50 years and articulation of 'lesson learned' that may be applicable to Fogo Island for and beyond the next 50 years. The discussions focused on alternatives to social and economic development of Fogo Island; the future of the Fogo Island fisheries; tourism, culture and economic development; green energy; and attraction of foreign investment. TBTI cluster coordinator Dr. Katia Frangoudes, TBTI Post-Doctoral Fellow Alicia Said, and TBTI PhD Candidate Miguel Lorenzi also attended the conference.
